Research Summer School
The intention is that the Research Summer School will be a useful resource for staff who wish to enhance their knowledge of the process of obtaining external funding and the management and leadership of funded research projects.
Who should attend?
* Senior Lecturers
* Staff with doctorates
* Other members of academic/research staff who wish to learn more about obtaining external research funding
When will the Summer School run?
* 22nd of July 2008
* 28th of August 2008
The Summer School is being repeated to allow for annual leave. Participants will attend either the July or the August session.
What about the content?
The sessions, which will be very much participatory, will focus on the following:
* Applying for funding (including identifying appropriate funding bodies, preparing proposals, pulling an appropriate team together, calculating a budget)
* How do successful applications differ from unsuccessful applications?
* Running, managing and leading a funded research project
