The Caledonian Graduate Centre is running the following workshop for all research students and staff
Workshop – Electronic Resources and How to Use Them – “The Good, The Bad and the Goo-gly”
Friday 30th March 9.30-12.30pm – The Saltire Centre, Seminar Room 1
Level: Introductory: suitable for beginning researchers
Aim:To identify common features in electronic databases, explore search strategies, locate full-text documents, examine results and consider options for
downloading these and discuss options for keeping up to date with research.

Objectives:
By the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- Identified important databases in their subject areas
- Knowledge of the key elements within databases
- An understanding of search strategies
- Confidence in navigating electronic resources and getting the best out of them
- An understanding of current awareness (alerting) services
