HealthQWest Gerontology Research Programme

The Gerontology Research Programme has a broad focus involving a wide range of disciplines.  The research in this programme area concentrates both on healthy ageing, and the challenges of ageing such as the conditions that become more prevalent as we age. The question that is central to the research is how do we age successfully with all its challenges? 

Our mission and values are:

(1)    Facilitating healthy ageing, well being and enabling independence through the generation of high quality scientific evidence underpinned and informed by the perspectives of users, carers and practitioners;

(2)    Transferring research knowledge into practice through timely interaction with members of the public, practitioners, and policy makers to implement authoritative evidence based on cutting edge research.
