Function for Living Programme

Welcome to the Function for Living Research Programme. Our research programme which is part of the HealthQWest consortium was established in 2005 primarily to investigate the factors that impact on normal human functioning and to develop and evaluate strategies capable of reducing disability and the effect it has on people's everyday lives.

The programme aims to assist through research, consumers of health services, to be all they can be, to achieve what they want to achieve and to live a  meaningful life through modern joined up rehabilitation services. This programme intends to support, through research, the development of new models of modern joined up rehabilitation services and to add to the conceptual and theoretical basis for these services. Furthermore we aim to champion the types of research and service delivery which we consider to be appropriate for the 21st century.

The consortium is well placed to undertake this programme of work containing as it does a suitable combination of researchers and professional colleagues from both Health and Social care and Science and Engineering backgrounds. We thank you for visiting our web site and encourage you to come and visit us any time you are in the city of Glasgow.

Sincerely,

Phil
